Natalie Conyer

I grew up in South Africa but have lived in Sydney for a long time.

I always wanted to write but took up a corporate career instead. One day I realised that if I didn't start writing soon I'd end up in the twilight home without having written anything. The next day I gave up my sensible corporate job and started to write.

For the first few years I concentrated on short stories. Then I wrote a novel, Present Tense, which was published in 2019. It's an exciting police procedural starring detective Schalk Lourens; I'm currently working on a sequel.

I write crime fiction. In fact, I love the genre so much I actually did a doctorate in it. That's pure devotion, isn't it?
