BLOG

Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans (with apologies to John Lennon if that's not 100% accurate - but it's been one of those months).

Been busy.

Very very busy.

Sick of being busy.

Hate autumn - seem to be up to my arse in snapping crocodiles on a daily basis at the moment, but enough whinging.  And there's always so much to do - getting the stocks in for a long cold winter (she says hopefully - and while you're at it Hughie, a bit of sodding rain wouldn't go astray!)

I've managed to squeeze in some great books recently and if anybody gives a flying, they might have noticed the Our New Books listing down on the right has been ticking over - I'm serious about getting in supplies for the winter.

Recently I was lucky enough to get my hands on JJ Cooper's first book The Interrogator.  I do love a good thriller - this one's military in style, leaves you wondering how much of it was based on the authors life in the military (and if he's okay as a result :) )  But seriously, good thriller of the type and a full review to come in the next day or so.

I've also been reading the first in the Adamsberg series - The Chalk Circle Man by Fred Vargas.  Very interesting to go back to the first book in a much loved series (of course we've been forced to read the series all over the place because of the odd way that these things are translated).  But again, a review to follow I promise - asap.

Elena Forbes second book Our Lady of Pain is another good, sound, enjoyable police procedural which is very pleasing given how good her first book was.  Another one to write up (are you starting to see a pattern here!).

Now I'm reading Echoes from the Dead by Johan Theorin and just loving it to pieces, but next up is the first in the Mongolian based series by Michael Walters - The Shadow Walker.  I've read the second and which I loved, and the third is on its way - but I'm QMing the first book over on 4MA(link is external) in early April so a bit of a scurry on is required.

And you never know - I might even get around to doing some boring blogging again.
